An extraordinary week for Latin show jumping, with victories in Europe and North America, high-level podiums and performances that confirm the region’s presence on the world’s most demanding circuits.
Latin Victories
Yuri Mansur (BRA), former Tu Mundo Ecuestre Latin Ranking leader and current No. 6, was the week’s standout Latin performer with a high-impact victory in the CSI2* Grand Prix at the Longines Global Future Champions in Valkenswaard, clocking 40.84 seconds with Incanto VDL among 56 combinations and 13 jump-off qualifiers. Mansur also finished third in the CSI4* Grand Prix Qualifier at the same show, a double result that reaffirms his level on the European circuit.
Marlon Módolo Zanotelli (BRA), No. 3 in the Latin Ranking and former leader for over a year, took command in the CSI3* 1.55m Grand Prix at Sentower Park in Belgium with Rockwell RC in 37.90 seconds, edging out Darragh Kenny (IRL) in a double-clear jump-off.
Podiums and Highlights
Pedro Junqueira Muylaert (BRA) completed the podium in third place in the Prix Mars & Co CSI5* 1.55m at the Jumping International de Dinard with Gemme Villers in 42.35 seconds, the most important class of Friday at the historic Norman show.
Alberto Sánchez-Cózar (MEX) delivered an outstanding performance, finishing third in the Derby Saur CSI3* at Dinard with Giovani de Perhet in 169.19 seconds, a podium in the most demanding and technical class of the show.
Luciana Diniz (BRA) qualified for the jump-off of the €500,000 Rolex Grand Prix Ville de Dinard with Vertigo du Desert, the only Latin American rider to do so, choosing not to return to preserve her mount ahead of the FEI World Championships in Aachen. She finished fourth.
Stephan Barcha (BRA), Tu Mundo Ecuestre Latin Ranking leader, finished fourth in the CSI4* Grand Prix Qualifier at the Longines Global Future Champions in Valkenswaard with 4 faults in 43.21 seconds.
Carlos Hank Guerreiro (MEX) finished fourth in the CSI2* Grand Prix at the Longines Global Future Champions in Valkenswaard with H5 Chilipepper Z in 42.24 seconds, and stayed ringside to cheer on his family member Sara María Hank Guerreiro, who finished ninth with the last clear round of the jump-off.
João Victor Castro (BRA) finished fifth in the CSI2* Grand Prix at Valkenswaard with Giulia Hoy in 42.70 seconds.
Andrés Azcárraga (MEX) was the top Latin finisher in the Prix Range Rover CSI3* at Dinard, finishing fifth with Atlantica du Soleil Z in 40.91 seconds in the jump-off.
Nicolás Pizarro (MEX), No. 2 in the Tu Mundo Ecuestre Latin Show Jumping Ranking, was the top Latin finisher in the Prix Key Player CSI5* at Dinard in sixth place with Chacalua Blue PS in 73.99 seconds, the last clear round of the competition.
Felipe Amaral (BRA) finished ninth in the CSI4* Grand Prix Qualifier at the Longines Global Future Champions in Valkenswaard with 4 faults in 41.76 seconds in the jump-off.
