Latin Victories
Stephan Barcha (BRA), Tu Mundo Ecuestre Latin Show Jumping Ranking leader, was the week’s standout performer, claiming the CSI4* 1.50m Speed at the Longines Tops International Arena Summer Showcase in Valkenswaard by just four hundredths of a second over Nicola Philippaerts. An elite victory that reaffirms his position at the top of the Latin standings.
Carlos Hank Guerreiro (MEX) delivered a major result in Valkenswaard, claiming the CSI4* 1.45m immediate jump-off at the Summer Showcase, his best European result of the season.
Luis Fernando Larrazabal (VEN), former Tu Mundo Ecuestre Latin Ranking leader, returned to the top, winning the $32,000 Modelo Especial CSI2* Speed at WEC Ocala with Baroness in 61.09 seconds.
Lucio Vinicius de Oliveira Osório (BRA) delivered a dominant double at the Azelhof Summer Tour in Lier, including the CSI2* Grand Prix with Queena by just 39 hundredths of a second.
Podiums and Highlights
Stephanie Macieira (BRA) was the standout figure of the Al Shira’aa King George V Gold Cup CSIO5* at Hickstead, finishing second with Novak de Kalvarie, the only other combination to produce a double-clear alongside winner Robert Whitaker. A historic performance in the most prestigious class of the Agria Royal International Horse Show.
Rodrigo Pessoa (BRA), No. 4 in the Tu Mundo Ecuestre Latin Show Jumping Ranking, completed the podium in third in the CSI4* 1.55m Grand Prix at the Summer Showcase in Valkenswaard with Major Tom.
Pedro Veniss (BRA) finished third in the CSI3* Speed class at the Royan Horse Club with Duelante 3K in 66.76 seconds.
Cassio Rivetti (BRA) finished second in the $31,100 Ingram Family CSIO3* Second Qualifier at Traverse City with Crispo R in 45.90 seconds.
Juan Vegas (VEN) was the top Latin finisher on the podium of the $85,000 Modelo Grand Prix CSI2* at WEC Ocala, third place with Clarisimo and the fastest jump-off time, penalized with one rail. He also claimed the $5,000 bonus as top U25 finisher.
Ilan Bluman (COL) finished third in both the $31,020 Go Rentals CSI3* Jumper Classic and the $31,020 Equestrian Gardens CSI3* Jumper Classic at HITS Hudson Valley, two podiums in the same week.
