JJ Torano keeps writing history at the Show Jumping Hall of Fame, and July was no exception.
The young rider from Wellington, Florida, claimed the Show Jumping Hall of Fame Rider of the Month Award for July 2026, his fourth distinction of the year, having previously won in January, March and June. With this latest recognition, Torano surpasses his own 2025 record, when he won the award three times and was named Show Jumping Hall of Fame Rider of the Year.
Torano competes in the East Conference of the Show Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper Classic Series and delivered a July of outstanding results. At the I Love New York Horse Show in Lake Placid, he finished sixth and eighth in the $10,000 Grandview Lake Placid 1.35m SJHOF Junior/Amateur Jumper Classic with Kochio Z and Mr. Worldwide, respectively, and tenth and twelfth in the $15,000 Horseflight 1.45m SJHOF Junior/Amateur Jumper Classic with D&H Q Paravatti N and Kung Fu.
A week later at the Great Lakes Equestrian Festival, Torano opened his account with victory in the Week 2 1.45m SJHOF Classic aboard Vitus K, the same mount with which he would repeat the win in Week 4, where he also collected third with Casanova Z, sixth with Mr. Worldwide, seventh with Kung Fu and ninth with Capolino, five of the top ten places in a single class. During Week 3, he added another triumph in the 1.35m SJHOF Classic with Casanova Z. Vitus K joined Torano on the monthly podium, earning the Horse of the Month distinction for July as well.
It is worth noting that Torano also claimed the silver medal in the Young Rider Individual Final at the FEI North American Youth Championships in Traverse City, a week that confirmed his place among the best young riders in North America.
The East Finals of the Show Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper Classic Series take place November 25–29 at the Holiday & Horses CSI4* at Wellington International.
