Five rounds, zero penalties, and Georgina Jewell wrote her name into NAYC history with a perfect week.
Georgina Jewell (USA) claimed the gold medal in the Children’s Individual Final at the Gotham North/FEI North American Youth Championships 2026, presented by USHJA, in Traverse City, Michigan. Jewell completed all five rounds of the week without a single penalty aboard Conny 424, a 9-year-old bay Holsteiner mare (Colore x Com Air). “It felt really good. I was definitely really nervous, but Conny is really sweet, and she’ll always help me out. Going into the last round, I was really confident because we were clear in all the others.”
The silver medal went to Jesus Rigu (USA) with Indigo, an 8-year-old grey gelding, his third appearance at NAYC, which also included a team gold medal. Rigu accumulated just 0.55 penalties across five rounds. “My horse jumped so well every round. He helped when I made mistakes, and when I rode well I felt like we were clicking every step.”
Cisy Zhou (USA) claimed bronze with Dalido 8, an 11-year-old bay Holsteiner gelding (Dinken x Calido I), rising from seventh place with two faultless rounds in the Individual Final. “Going into today I knew I was in the middle of the pack and I wanted to put in two great rounds. After the first round I knew he was jumping great. He’s really brave, so I was really grateful to have him as my partner.”
