Nassar crossed the finish in 37.72 seconds to take the win in the final Grand Prix of the series. “Igor was just outstanding today. For six years now, he’s been just an unbelievable partner to me. With his older age, we’ve been using him a little more sparingly, but he still gives me an amazing feeling, and I just wanted him to get a win because he’s been so close so many times.”
Igor van de Wittemoere is an 18-year-old bay Belgian Warmblood gelding (Cooper van de Heffinck x Orlando), owned by Evergate Stables LLC, a veteran that at 18 years of age continues competing at the highest level, finally putting it all together for a well-deserved victory.
Alex Matz (USA) finished second with Clarimo, a 9-year-old bay Zangersheide gelding (Comilfo Plus Z x Polydor) owned by Dorothy Matz, clocking 38.76 seconds, having taken the provisional lead before Nassar surpassed it. McKayla Langmeier (USA) completed the podium with Isidore de Chalusse, an 8-year-old grey SF gelding (Clarimo x Vigo d’Arsouilles STX) owned by Rafferty Farm LLC, in 40.48 seconds, the first to set a fault-free benchmark in the jump-off.
Alexandra Worthington (USA) finished fourth with De l’Oiseliere, a 13-year-old chestnut SF gelding (Kapitol d’Argonne x Oberon du Moulin) owned by Turn A Blind Eye LLC, with 4 faults in 40.82 seconds. Catherine Tyree Flores (USA) rounded out the Top 5 with Kadans, an 11-year-old grey KWPN gelding (Quidam de Revel x Carthago) owned by Catherine Tyree LLC, with 4 faults in 42.55 seconds.
