Germany maintains the team classification lead of the FEI Jumping World Championship Aachen 2026 with 3.48 accumulated penalties after the first round of the Mercedes-Benz Prize, courtesy of three flawless performances from Daniel Deusser with Otello de Guldenboom, Sophie Hinners with Iron Dames Singclair and Marcus Ehning with Coolio, with Richard Vogel and United Touch S also completing without penalties as discard. Chef d’équipe Otto Becker was clear: “Nothing has been won yet. But now it is in our hands whether we win a team medal tomorrow.”

The United States Second — Women Leave Their Mark

The United States consolidates second place with 4.85 penalties. Laura Kraut with Baloutinue (1.06), Lillie Keenan with Fasther (1.17) and Katherine Dinan with Out of the Blue SCF completing on zero as discard, with McLain Ward and High Star Hero adding 4 faults as discard on 2.62 total penalties. The American team’s women delivered high-level rounds that keep the USA firmly in medal contention.

Belgium and Italy share third place with 7.69 penalties. Belgium suffered with Thibeau Spits and Impress-K van’t Kattenheye Z adding 4 faults in the second round, while Italy held its position with clean rounds from Giulia Martinengo Marquet, Emanuele Camilli and Piergiorgio Bucci.

Great Britain, with Scott Brash leading the individual, drops to fifth with 8.98 penalties after Harry Charles and LT Holst Freda picked up 4 faults in the second round. France sixth with 8.99. Julien Épaillard and Fringan de Vesquerie as discard with 8 faults in the second round left the French team without medal options for now.

Sweden seventh with 9.64, Henrik von Eckermann and Minute Man, a 12-year-old bay BWP stallion (Vigo d’Arsouilles STX x Montender), on 2.46 penalties. Switzerland eighth with 10.49, Steve Guerdat with Dynamix de Belheme and Martin Fuchs with Conner Jei, a 15-year-old bay Holsteiner gelding (Connor x Cosimo), both completing on zero. Denmark ninth with 11.57 and Ireland tenth with 11.69.

Latin & Pan American Team Presence

The United States leads the regional contingent in second place overall with 4.85 penalties. Mexico twelfth with 12.88 accumulated penalties, Eugenio Garza Pérez and Fernando Martínez Sommer contributing important clear rounds that keep Mexican hopes alive for a surprise in the second round. Brazil sixteenth with 19.04 penalties, Canada seventeenth with 21.81, Argentina twenty-third with 34.07 and Colombia twenty-fifth with 36.84 accumulated penalties.
