Cédric Angot (FRA) clocked 59.91 seconds in the CSI4* 1.50m Prix Patrimmofi Gestion Privée at the Longines Deauville Classic, Grand Prix qualifier for Sunday, designed by Gérard Lachat (SUI) with 82 combinations on course and €29,000 in prize money, with only 16 combinations completing the track without penalties. Angot was the only one to cross the finish inside a minute, cutting every turn to secure his qualification for Sunday’s Grand Prix. “I am delighted with Gandor, with how he behaved today and more broadly with what he has been showing for three shows now. When I see my distances, I feel calm because he is really on form.”
Gandor du Fief is a 10-year-old grey SF gelding (Upsilon x Corland), owned by S.A.S. TCA Invest, two weeks after winning a 1.45m class at the Dinard CSI3*, the combination stepped up a level and delivered again in Normandy.
Mégane Moissonnier (FRA), first to go on course, finished second with Kandoo Z, a 10-year-old bay Zangersheide stallion (Kannan x Level Z) owned by Laurent Guillet and SAS PLCB, in 60.03 seconds; she opened the class with a flawless round that set the standard for the entire day. Cédric Hurel (FRA) completed an all-French podium with Fantasio Floreval Z, a 16-year-old bay Zangersheide gelding (Florian de la Vie x Clinton) owned by Hurel himself, in 60.49 seconds.
Victor Bettendorf (LUX), recent winner of the LGCT Grand Prix of Riesenbeck, finished fourth with Encore Toi du Linon, a 12-year-old bay SF mare (Kannan x Desir du Chateau) owned by Christelle Perron, in a time of 60.59 seconds. Valentin Besnard (FRA) rounded out the Top 5 with Ithac Express, an 8-year-old bay SF stallion (Orient Express x Corland) owned by Sulaiman Alanbar, in 60.94 seconds.
