Sergio Alvarez Moya and Quadrado Take Command in the CSI4* Grand Prix at the Longines Global Future Champions in Valkenswaard 2026.

The perfect closing act of the Longines Global Future Champions, and Sergio Alvarez Moya signed it with authority.

Sergio Alvarez Moya (ESP) claimed the CSI4* 1.55m Grand Prix at the Longines Global Future Champions at the Longines Tops International Arena in Valkenswaard, designed by Peter Schumacher (GER), with 37 combinations on course, 14 qualifiers for the jump-off, and 11 returning, with €105,500 in prize money. Alvarez Moya stopped the clock at 41.81 seconds to claim their first CSI4* Grand Prix victory together. “I’m very happy with this win. It’s our first 4* Grand Prix victory together, and I think it’s a nice reward after a couple of years building the partnership. Quadrado has been improving all the time, and this week he jumped fantastic.”

Quadrado is a 10-year-old bay BWP gelding (Comme Il Faut x Diamant de Semilly), owned by Inversiones Mexim S.L., a horse that continues to grow with every competition and gave everything at Valkenswaard.

Harry Charles (GBR), Olympic medallist, finished second with LT Holst Freda, a 12-year-old grey NZWB mare (Colman x Casall) owned by Eve Jobs and Harry Charles, clocking 43.64 seconds, continuing an outstanding weekend in Valkenswaard after winning both previous qualifiers. Andreas Schou (DEN) completed the podium with Riverdale van’t Poezelhof, a 9-year-old bay BWP gelding (Thunder van de Zuuthoeve x Iceberg ST) owned by Karel Cox Horses BV and Schou Absolute Horses, stopping the clock at 43.93 seconds.

Harrie Smolders (NED), home favourite, finished fourth with Estrello EH Z, a 9-year-old bay Zangersheide gelding (Emerald x Graf Top) owned by Smolders himself, with 4 faults in 43.48 seconds, the fastest jump-off time but penalized with one rail that drew an audible groan from the Dutch crowd. Zayna Rizvi (USA) rounded out the Top 5 with Exquise du Pachis, a 16-year-old bay SBS mare (Vagabond de la Pomme x Ogano Sitte) owned by The Exquisite Group, with 4 faults in 44.58 seconds.

Zayna Rizvi (USA) was the top Pan American performer in fifth place. Yuri Mansur (BRA), former Tu Mundo Ecuestre Latin Ranking leader and early winner of the Grand Prix CSI2*, eighth with 8 faults in 41.15 seconds, Felipe Amaral (BRA) ninth with 4 faults in 41.76 seconds, Laura Kraut (USA), No. 2 in the Tu Mundo Ecuestre Pan American Show Jumping Ranking, twelfth without returning for the jump-off, Eugenio Garza Pérez (MEX) also twelfth without returning, Marilyn Little (USA) twentieth with 4 faults in the first round, Eduardo Menezes (BRA) twenty-sixth with 8 faults, Jorge Matte (CHI) twenty-seventh with 8 faults, Carlos Hank Guerreiro (MEX) twenty-eighth with 8 faults, João Victor Castro (BRA) twenty-ninth with 9 faults. Ignacio Maurín (ARG) and Natalie Dean (USA) retired.
