Sophie Hinners and Iron Dames Kaleni Jo Crown the Summer Showcase with the CSI4* Grand Prix Title in Valkenswaard.

The curtain fell at Valkenswaard, and Sophie Hinners brought it down in the best possible way.

Sophie Hinners (GER) claimed the CSI4* 1.55m Grand Prix at the Longines Tops International Arena Summer Showcase in Valkenswaard, designed by Uliano Vezzani (ITA), with 42 combinations on course, 13 qualifiers for the jump-off and €105,500 in prize money. Hinners stopped the clock at 43.44 seconds to take the Grand Prix title on the closing day of the Summer Showcase. “I’m absolutely delighted. Kaleni Jo has been improving every time she steps into the ring, and today she showed just how much potential she has. She’s naturally incredibly careful, but she’s also becoming so much more confident. To win a Grand Prix like this is a special moment and a real reward for everyone involved.”

Iron Dames Kaleni Jo is a 10-year-old chestnut Zangersheide mare (Kannan x Indoctro), owned by Pegase Equestrian BV, part of the Iron Dames programme that supports elite female riders on the international circuit.

Edwina Tops-Alexander (AUS) clocked 45.18 seconds with Caetlin vd Heffinck Z, an 11-year-old chestnut Zangersheide mare (Chacco-Blue x Cabrio vd Heffinck) owned by Tops-Alexander and Stoeterij Black Horses, to finish second. Rodrigo Pessoa (BRA), No. 4 in the Tu Mundo Ecuestre Latin Show Jumping Ranking, completed the podium in third with Major Tom, a 13-year-old chestnut BWP gelding (Vagabond de la Pomme x Heartbreaker), coming home in 45.26 seconds.

Antoine Ermann (FRA) finished fourth with Jiamo VDS, a 12-year-old bay KWPN stallion (Thunder vd Zuuthoeve x Carolus H) owned by Chev’El, registering 45.99 seconds. Daniel Deusser (GER) rounded out the Top 5 with Otello de Guldenboom, a 12-year-old bay BWP stallion (Tobago Z x Caretino) owned by Stephex Stables, charging through the timers in 46.31 seconds.

Latin & Pan American Presence

Rodrigo Pessoa (BRA), former leader and current No. 4 in the Tu Mundo Ecuestre Latin Show Jumping Ranking, was the standout Latin performer with his third place. Stephan Barcha (BRA), Latin Ranking leader, qualified for the jump-off but did not return. Zayna Rizvi (USA) eleventh with 9 faults in the jump-off, Eduardo Menezes (BRA) eighteenth with 4 faults in the first round, Natalie Dean (USA) twenty-first with 4 faults, Andrés Azcárraga (MEX) twenty-third with 4 faults, Karl Cook (USA) twenty-seventh with 8 faults and Laura Kraut (USA), No. 2 in the Tu Mundo Ecuestre Pan American Show Jumping Ranking, twenty-eighth with 8 faults.
