Leopold van Asten and VDL Groep Kwienbellie Seal a Thrilling Victory in the CSI2* Grand Prix at the Summer Showcase in Valkenswaard.

The Dutch crowd roared, and Leopold van Asten delivered exactly what they were waiting for.

Leopold van Asten (NED) claimed the CSI2* 1.45m Grand Prix at the Longines Tops International Arena Summer Showcase in Valkenswaard, designed by Uliano Vezzani (ITA), with 66 combinations on course, 15 qualifiers for the jump-off, and 14 returning, with €28,700 in prize money. Van Asten stopped the clock at 38.69 seconds to take the win, surpassing Belgian leader Koen Vereecke with a beautifully calculated and brilliantly executed round.

VDL Groep Kwienbellie is an 11-year-old bay KWPN mare (Toulon x Indoctro), owned by Stoeterij Duyselshof B.V., a horse that under the Dutch rider delivered speed and precision in the decisive jump-off.

Koen Vereecke (BEL), standout performer of the weekend with multiple victories at the Summer Showcase, clocked 39.55 seconds with Riverflow van’t Ruytershof, a 9-year-old bay BWP gelding (Tornedo FCS x For Pleasure) owned by Joris De Brabander and Stal’t Ruyters Hof, to finish second. Nicola Philippaerts (BEL) completed the podium with Cornethagos PS, a 10-year-old grey OS gelding (Cornet du Lys x Conthargos) owned by Team Philippaerts, marking 40.52 seconds in third.

Hilary Scott (AUS) finished fourth with Lola, a 10-year-old grey KWPN mare (Cardento x Otangelo) owned by Alice Cameron, completing her round in 41.09 seconds. Nick Vrins (BEL) rounded out the Top 5 with Realteens Orestus, an 8-year-old chestnut ISH gelding (Orestus VDL x Cruising) owned by Maarten Huygens, in 41.90 seconds.
