Pessoa crossed the finish in 43.99 seconds to take the win.
Major Tom is a 13-year-old chestnut BWP gelding (Vagabond de la Pomme x Heartbreaker), owned by Artemis Equestrian Farm LLC and Pessoa himself, a partnership that at the Tops International Summer Festival delivered the performance of the week for Latin American show jumping.
Andrés Azcárraga (MEX) finished second with Contendros 2, a 19-year-old dark bay Hanoverian stallion (Contendro I x Drosselklang II) owned by Andrés and Jaime Azcárraga, registering 45.60 seconds, the 19-year-old veteran that continues to compete at the highest level.
