The perfect double. Serrano won on Friday and closed the show with the most important Grand Prix, the podium was entirely Spanish.

Iván Serrano Sáez (ESP) claimed the CSI4* Casas Novas Grand Prix Marqués de Riscal Trophy 1.60m at the Casas Novas Summer Edition, designed by Javier Trenor (Chape) & Team with 36 combinations, 15 qualifiers for the jump-off and €105,500 in prize money. Of the 15 pairs in the jump-off, only five produced clear rounds. Serrano Sáez stopped the clock at 40.58 seconds, a time that proved unbeatable.

Rain Man is a 16-year-old chestnut OS gelding (Chacco-Blue x Pilot), owned by Rasputin 301 S.L., an extraordinary veteran that at 16 years of age won two of the three most important classes of the show: the CaixaBank Trophy on Friday and the Grand Prix on Sunday. Serrano took risks in the jump-off as if it were a less demanding class, and his strategy paid off perfectly.

Bautista Rodríguez Debray (ESP) finished second with Vivoulette HD, a 13-year-old bay OS mare (Vivant x Dobel’s Cento) owned by Sarl Ecurie Rodriguez Debray, registering 43.56 seconds. Pilar Lucrecia Cordón (ESP) completed an all-Spanish podium with Pica Pica Z, a 13-year-old bay mare, crossing the line in 44.69 seconds. Maikel van der Vleuten (NED), world No. 58, finished fourth with Jesther, a 12-year-old bay KWPN stallion (Cardento x Vink Guidam) owned by Pontegadea España SLU, Marta Ortega Pérez, in 48.08 seconds.

Marlon Modolo Zanotelli (BRA), who delivered a brilliant double during the show, finished seventeenth with 4 faults in 72.54 seconds in the first round. Santiago Díaz Ortega (COL) thirtieth with 12 faults and Martín Dopazo (ARG) retired.
